OSEA sponsors Hughes Hall Boatclub (HHBC) to Victory at May Bumps 2024
OSEA is thrilled to announce the phenomenal performance of the HUGHES HALL BOATCLUB (HHBC) at the prestigious May Bumps 2024. This year’s event showcased the extraordinary talent and determination of our rowers, and we are proud to share their achievements with you.
DAY 1 - MAY BUMPS 2024
The event kicked off with strong performances from all our teams, setting the tone for an exhilarating competition.
M1: Our men's team started the day as the sandwich boat at the top of Division 2, rowing over before bumping Caius M2 and making a triumphant return to Division 1 . This initial victory sparked excitement for the races to come.
W1: The women's team began with a powerful bump against Downing W2 before the Plough, rowing home adorned with foliage .
M2: Engaged in a fierce contest against Lucy Cav M1.
DAY 2 - MAY BUMPS 2024
Our crews continued to impress with stellar performances across the board.
M1: Continued their climb in Division 1 by bumping FaT, further solidifying their position and progress.
W1: Delivered an unforgettable performance, bumping Maggie W2 to become the sandwich boat, then overcoming Tit Hall W2 at Ditton Corner.
M2: Demonstrated great tenacity by holding off Wolfson M2 as long as possible before being bumped. Their resilience and spirit were commendable.
DAY 3 - MAY BUMPS 2024
Friday brought another round of thrilling successes for our teams.
M1: Extended their winning streak in Division 1 by bumping Robinson M1 before the Plough, setting them on a path for blades.
W1: Provided an exhilarating show for the Hughes Hall End of Year Party, bumping Robinson W1 right in front of the enthusiastic crowd. Their remarkable journey continued towards super-blades.
M2: Demonstrated endurance and determination with a strong row-over, maintaining full speed throughout the course.
DAY 4 - MAY BUMPS 2024
The final day of the competition saw our teams achieving the highest honors, capping off an incredible week.
M1: Finished the event in spectacular fashion by bumping Queens M1, securing an impressive +4. Their relentless pursuit and victories at every opportunity earned them well-deserved blades.
W1: Continued to delight the crowds, particularly with their stunning bump of Pembroke W2 in front of the Plough. With a total of five bumps, W1 not only achieved blades but super-blades, celebrating their dominance on the river.
M2: Despite a hard-fought battle against Girton M2, our second men's team displayed remarkable skill and resilience, showcasing their rowing prowess throughout the week.
